Vulnerable Sector Check
Have you completed your Vulnerable Sector Check? Below you will find information that you need to fill out a Vulnerable Sector Check Form as well as the additional information required to complete the application process.
- New volunteers must complete the Vulnerable Sector Check Online in order to volunteer within the association. NOTE: this is an online process
- Returning annual volunteers may fill out and email (staynerhitmenpresident@gmail.com) the Offense Declaration Form indicating any criminal convictions since the completion of the Vulnerable Sector Check Form.
- Acceptable Forms of ID lists the types of ID that can be used to complete the Vulnerable Sector Check Form.
- SHML - Vulnerable Sector Check Cover Letter is used in conjunction with the Vulnerable Sector Check Form. Please contact Michele Boileau to request this form (staynerhitmenpresident@gmail.com).
To avoid missing out on the season, make sure to submit your Vulnerable Sector Checks early to ensure they are processed before the start of the season.
IMPORTANT! Once you have received your Vulnerable Sector Check results, please foward a copy via email to staynerhitmenpresident@gmail.com as this is required to complete your coaching/trainer registration.
Certification
These are the accepted certifications to be a trainer with the OLA.
- Any St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid course of 8 hours (or more)
- Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & Basic CPR course
- Sport Alliance of Ontario/Canadian Red Cross Sport First Aid course
- Ontario Hockey Trainer’s current certification program
- A professional designation which includes a current letter of employment (acceptable examples: MD; RN; Police Officer, Firefighter, First Responder, Paramedic)
- Lifesaving Society (Ontario) Standard First Aid course
- Action First Aid Standard First Aid course
- Rescue 7 Standard First Aid course
- Lifesaving Society (Quebec) Emergency First Aid/AED-Sports & Recreation
- Workplace Medical Corp Emergency First Aid/CPR/AED Awareness
- Workplace Medical Corp Standard First Aid/CPR/AED Awareness
