FALL SIXES IS HERE!

We are excited to announce that the Stayner Hitmen will be introducing Sixes as part of of organization for Fall 2025. 

Sixes is an incredibly fast-paced, compact version of lacrosse, combining the most exciting elements of the more traditional disciplines. It is characterized by an accelerated, open style of play with quick transitions and non-stop, high-scoring action.

  • 6 v 6, 12 players per team
  • :30 shot clock
  • 8-minute running-time quarters
  •  ~45-minute games 
  • Competitively played outside on 70x36m grass or turf field
  • No specialist positions, just runners and goalies
  • Draws only at the start of each quarter

There is body contact, but there is NO hitting. Think basketball defence. You can use your stick and body to keep them in front of you but not take them out.

Equipment Needed:

·        Helmet (with face mask)

·        Lacrosse Stick

·        Gloves

·        Mouthguard

·        Goalie Extra: Chest Protector

Season:

We hope to start the week of August 25th with games beginning the week of September 1st. We will try to schedule games with local associations on a weeknight. We may need to schedule a Saturday or Sunday with 2 or 3 games to play further centers and meet the provincial qualifications.

Provincial Rankings are done during play on October 4th OR October 5th. You will play 4 games in one day, on either the Saturday or the Sunday.

There will be NO play during Labour Day weekend or Thanksgiving weekend

Sixes Provincials will be held in Hamilton October 25th and 26th.
