A Message to the Stayner Minor Lacrosse Community, from our President Michele Boileau

As I step away from the role of President, I find myself reflecting on the past 10 years with Stayner Minor Lacrosse. It’s hard to believe how much has changed, how much we have accomplished, and how far we have come.

This journey has been filled with incredible highs, difficult challenges, lessons learned, and moments that have tested us as an association. We have navigated COVID, worked through periods of rebuilding, experienced tremendous growth, and continued to find ways to move forward, even when things weren't easy.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant: the people who care about this association and the kids who make it all worthwhile.

I am incredibly proud of what Stayner Minor Lacrosse has become and of the foundation we have worked so hard to build. From the players who take the floor wearing our jersey, to the coaches, volunteers, parents, sponsors, and Board members who give their time and energy behind the scenes, every person has played a part in our story.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work alongside so many amazing people. Some have been there for the long haul, while others have come into the association along the way, bringing new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a willingness to help. I am grateful for every person who has shared this journey with me, offered support, worked through challenges, celebrated successes, and contributed to making SML what it is today.

Minor sports associations are not always easy to run. There are long hours, difficult decisions, competing opinions, and plenty of work that often goes unnoticed. But there are also friendships, accomplishments, unforgettable moments, and the satisfaction of knowing that the work we do makes a difference in the lives of our players.

To everyone I have worked with over the past 10 years, thank you. Thank you for your time, your commitment, your support, your patience, and, most importantly, for caring about Stayner Minor Lacrosse.

I am proud of the people who continue to give so much to this association, proud of the growth we have achieved, and excited to see what the future holds. There is still so much potential ahead, and I hope you continue to build on the foundation that has been established while keeping your focus on what matters most: our players and their experience with the game.

Ten years is a significant chapter of my life, and I will always look back on it with pride. I am excited about what lies ahead for SML and for myself as I move into this next chapter. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. It has been quite a ride, and I am grateful to have been a part of the Stayner Minor Lacrosse story.

Once a Hitmen, always a Hitmen.
