2026 Try-Outs and Evaluations

They Stayner Hitmen are excited to announce the 2026 Try-Out and Evaluation schedule. 

Due to the increased interest in lacrosse this season, tryouts are necessary in some age groups to ensure we can fairly evaluate all players and form a competitive, balanced team. Our evaluators and coaching staff will assess players through a combination of drills and game situations to gain a well-rounded understanding of each player’s abilities.

Please note that team selection is based on a variety of factors, including skill, effort, attitude, and positional needs. Our goal is to place each player in the environment where they will be best supported and able to develop throughout the season.

If your child is not selected for this team, there are still great opportunities to continue playing. You will have the option to attend tryouts at the next closest centre for potential rep placement, or we strongly encourage participation in the Midlands house league program as an excellent development pathway.

To help ensure a smooth and fair process, we ask that:

• Players arrive on time and fully equipped for each session
• Players are encouraged to attend at least TWO (2) of the tryout dates
• Parents/guardians refrain from providing instruction from the stands
• All communication regarding evaluations and team decisions should be directed to the President staynerhitmenpresident@gmail.com

We understand that tryouts can be both exciting and challenging for players. We encourage you to support your child by focusing on effort, attitude, and enjoying the experience.
